World needs to go Green, than Green needs to go LEED
In the past decade, the idea of building â??green’ has sprouted globally â?? the so called â??Green revolution’. As years passed by, one could see this revolution gradually turning into one of those temporary trends set up to support marketing of related fields of construction activity. Today, the term â??green’ is certainly abused and misunderstood by most of the engineering empire.
Truthfully, the natural living systems on our planet are the only designs we know of that are triumphant in their sustainability because they relate with the environment in holistic, integrative, and reductive processes. On the contrary, many of the current green building rating systems like LEED are structured to endorse solutions that are in majority additive and encourage consumption over conservation. This is simply because the rating systems are initially conceived to have certain set of sections which cater to sustainability; that are then packed with technologies, systems and products to achieve it. Architects now depend much on these intelligent service systems to make up for their neglect in the basic building design. If buildings are based on a sluggish design process, one would be obviously strained to use the so called â??Green’ or â??intelligent’ engineering methods to supplement it.
It is unfortunate that valuable rating systems such as LEED have converted Architecture into an accounting exercise. This has completely digressed from what could have been a healthy exercise in coming out with truly good architecture. We are missing an opportunity to develop such architecture by allowing these accounting or statistical procedures to dominate our logical thinking and creativity. Targeting maximum LEED points especially in GCC countries require more common sense and deeper understanding of the effect. The potential benefits of solely achieving a certification should not be the motive of the design process.
Green design is sweeping across the world more environmentally friendly packaging design
Green design is sweeping across the world more environmentally friendly packaging design
With the development of world economy, a wave of green revolution is sweeping the world. Looking at the world development trend of green civilization, the 21st century will become a “green century.”
Rapid development of green technology Green technology is a trend in international social development, to sustainable use of resources, it is necessary to change the type of industrial development that the depletion mode. Accelerate scientific and technological progress, not technology, security, sustainable use of resources is impossible. This requires that enterprises in the selection of production technology, develop new products, he must decide in favor of environmental protection and ecological balance of technology options.
Recent years, rapid development of green technologies in pollution control, recycling of resources, energy conservation, the three major aspects of the formation of a huge market, including product development, information services and engineering contracts. According to incomplete statistics, the global green technology and products market has more than 250 billion U.S. dollars, to the end of this century is expected to reach 600 billion U.S. dollars. Compete in this market, the developed countries were predominant. If the United States, desulfurization, removing ammonia technology, Japan’s dusty, garbage disposal technology, pollution treatment technology in Germany ahead in the world. Currently, in order to occupy the world market of green products for the purpose of competing for the center of green technology high ground in international competition has begun. Fluorine refrigerant technology in the United States and Europe launched a competition for Japan and Europe in recycling projects compete with each other. In order to gain competitive advantage, the United States, Japan, Europe and other countries more in the Green Industry in the application of biotechnology, computer technology, and new materials to make it into a high-tech industry. Germany with its unique advanced technology and equipment and good social service in the international Environmental protection Market, gaining a solid footing. Netherlands, Italy, Australia also has some technical advantages of environmental protection, are also being pegged to a piece of “cake” in order to share one of these.
Stimulate enthusiasm for manufacturers of green design
In the United States, Michigan, a building, six technicians and engineers with the demolition of a brand new car for display. They removed the assembly, said the weight of each part out, and video throughout the process and timing, this experiment is to do, “Green Design.” Green design is the design of the product can be removed, decomposition, parts can be refurbished and reused. In this way, both to protect the environment, reducing waste of resources.

Green Cleaning Services and Other Green Efforts for The World
Green Cleaning Services and Other Green Efforts for The World
Doing your bit for the environment is the start of going green, a global movement whose main objective is to save the earth by harming it as less as possible. Going green is booming. Twenty years ago, most green advocates were regarded as extremists and gung ho about saving the world without giving a damn. But through constant dialogue, the tides did turn. The point of most conservationists that we have to protect our resources because they are limited began to hit home. More research into the effects of how man did so much harm to the world came out and as the general population began to clamor for reforms in our manufacturing processes, the companies saw the light, listened and began to adopt. These days’ corporations even use green clean services to maintain their offices ensuring that non toxic substances that are harmful to the ozone layer are used in the cleaning of their very workplace. It is after all common sense as one wouldn’t want to breathe poisonous substances in their surroundings. And though some people still question the motives for such multi national companies going greener, the fact that they are doing so is good enough for now.
How have big companies responded?
- Oil companies are now looking for sustainable energy alternatives than oil. More and more research is being done by these companies into solar, hydro and wind energy as an alternative to petroleum. These companies have begun allocating their financial resources into seriously finding alternative and renewable energy, knowing that indeed, oil is finite. By doing so, these companies have opened up avenues for environmental engineers to pursue their passion. They have also started to look at their manufacturing process and place safeguards against accidents in oil rigs and tankers which will have disastrous effects to the environment should one ever happen.
- Companies have adopted recycling into their manufacturing and product packaging. More and more companies have begun using recycled paper as part of their pitch in going green. With this endeavour being done, research is concurrently being done on how to make other items like plastic re-useable. There is also an effort for more companies to add incentives to recycling their plastic packaging. And in the supermarkets, the use of cloth bags for groceries is being encouraged to lessen the use of brown paper bags. In turn, all countries these days try to sort and store the various types of disposables to its proper bins so most of them can be recycled again.

Environmental Waste Solutions for an Ever Changing World
Environmental Waste Solutions for an Ever Changing World
In all nations he public and their servants are continually seeking out new environmental waste solutions. As time goes on these are becoming more and more sophisticated in order to protect our environment.
The problem is that once an environmental waste solution has been found for one problem science and industry tends to create a new chemical or product which in some way is hazardous and needs a new environmental waste solution to avoid damage to the environment.
Waste is generated in all sorts of ways. Its composition and volume largely depend on consumption patterns and the industrial and economic structures in place. Waste is considered to be the by-product of both natural and artificial processes: manufacturing, chemical reactions, and even events in biochemical pathways.
But how do we distinguish the main products of an activity from its by-products? Waste is directly linked to the human development, both technologically and socially. The composition of different wastes has varied over time and location, with industrial development and innovation being directly linked to waste materials.
Want to Help Make the World Greener? Use Organic Cleaning Products!
Want to Help Make the World Greener? Use Organic Cleaning Products!
Spring cleaning need not be tied to a specific time of the year. All year round, you can have your own version of spring cleaning. This way, you won’t feel like a huge and sudden burden is suddenly on your shoulders and on your to-do list when spring arrives. Also, if you regularly clean things, you’ll be using less amounts of cleaning products, thus helping you to spend less energy.
Although I have to say, your energy is at stake here, but that is another story for another day. But first things first, did you know that when you use organic cleaning products, you not only help Mother Nature and your wallet, but your kids and furry critters as well? Yes, you really do help them too! Want to know why? Well, here are some facts to support that claim.
Your regular cleaning aids usually have a lot of strong fragrances that might help trigger allergies or even asthma. Not only that but they are also riddled with hazardous and/or harsh chemicals like ammonia, alcohol and bleach. Plus, those kinds of cleaning aids are riddled with really strong coloring additives that are harmful to the skin, especially to children’s and not to mention, animals.
So when you were using those kinds of cleansing materials, you were actually putting your kids and your pets at risk. Well, why is that, you may ask? It’s because kids are usually found on the floor playing with toys while your dogs or cats have no choice but to stay on the ground. Unless of course, they sprout wings because they inhaled too much ammonia and transform into mutants – which is another way of saying; dogs have to stay on the ground because that’s how nature intended them to be.
