I chose to buy this shape sorter for my 12 month old because it is solid wood and the shapes only fit through their own holes. This is important, because MANY shape sorters have more shapes, but they will frequently fit through more than one shape hole.

This toy good for Montessori-style learning, because it has the natural control of error.

This toy is simple, but good quality, and my daughter loves it.

The lid is not attached, like some, but that’s fine. We play with it togther and she has almost as much fun matching the lid to the box!

I purchased this shape sorter for my 17 month old about a month ago, and I am really pleased. We had previously purchased another Plan Toys Shape Sorter Plan Toy Shape and Sort with a very similar name but different design. My child never really took to it, partly because it is not the most intuitive design. She never really figured out the intended way to retrieve the shapes, though she did get creative and find another way! It seemed clear to me that she would be more interested in dropping shaped blocks into a container where she could retrieve them.

Before purchasing I had read a review that pointed out that this a fool proof design in that the shapes will only fit into the right spot. We have found that to be true.

After receiving this sorter, my daughter mastered the round spot quickly and is very good at the other shapes as well. There are two of each shape, so your child can reinforce what they learn when they hit the right spot by putting the same shape in again right away. The lid fits nicely, resting in a groove. It is slightly weighty so it works well and is easy to remove and replace.

I love that this toy is non-toxic with safer rounded edges. Wood toys can be less toxic but a potential hard surface to fall on, so rounded edges show that someone put thought and care into the design.

The wood is a beautiful, matte finish. It feels good in your hands. The colors are rich, and engaging for my child. I don’t think you can go wrong with this one!

Update: As my child grew older, she did some of their first stacking with these blocks. The matte finish gives them some grip so they are not as difficult as the Baby’s First Blocks by Haba (which I also recommend).

I and my 3 cats love these animals so much we own three (one for each of course). The refillable cat nip is easy to change out and none of the cats have been able to open the Velcro closure on the back on their own. The toy is built well and has held up to many years of use. My oldest cat even carries hers around like it’s a kitten. I can’t recommend this item, and it’s other animals, highly enough.

These are the cutest baby toys! They have such charming little faces on every fruit or vegetable. Our baby loves his green bean toy the most. And the banana, corn and strawberry are very sweet as well.

They are the perfect size for baby hands and when they need to be cleaned (after being chewed or spit on by baby cakes) we just use a baby wipe and it freshens them right up.

Even our three-year old has “adopted” the tomato as a favorite stuffed animal.

This is my first choice when I need to buy for baby showers now. Everyone always oohs and ahhs over how cute and original they are.

Also, these are great stocking stuffers for new babies…just prepare yourself for a toddler (or other older sibling) that might end up wanting a veggie baby of their own!

In my opinion, the only thing that would make these toys better for babies would be some kind of jingle chime or rattle inside, but, as is, these toys are pretty darn close to perfect.

I got the green beans and tomato for my son when he was under 6 months old. He absolutely loved the green beans. They are perfect for a beginner teether. They are long and skinny so he could easily hold them and keep them in his mouth at the same time. And yes, they do get kind of gross after getting soaked with spit, but you can easily just stick them in the wash with a load of laundry.

The tomato- my dog liked. She got to it before my son and ripped it apart, but she must have liked it!

I also purchased the carrot later, but for some reason that one he didn’t love. Kids!

In my previous review I only gave the Dogobie 2-stars. I now need to give it at least one more star (Amazon apparently doesn’t allow you to edit the # of stars). While I still find that the Dogobie does not fly like a real frisbee (it’s not rigid enough and easily warps), it has been my young collie Sophie’s favorite fetch toy for a while now. I am occassionally able to make a decent throw that she can catch. Sophie is a show dog, so I’m concerned that she may damage her teeth on a hard frisbee. The Dogobie is a safe compromise.

Our dog (5 years, medium size, 50lbs) would destroy a frisbee a week, merely in adjusting it in his mouth while carrying it back from a catch. A tooth hole here, and there ultimately led to full breakage. Add in the occasional blood on the frisbee from the hard plastic cutting his tounge and we had to hit the net for something else. Admittedly, a cheap plastic flying disc can be found for or at a discount store, so it was less about the money and more about the frustration and waste.

Review: This dogobie is surprisingly durable. It’s a bendable, mallable plastic. While the dog has been able to put small imperfections (divets?) in the surface with his teeth, I don’t think he’s actually punctured it yet after 4 weeks of throwing almost every day. It’s pretty misshapen at this point (I leave it in a plastic bag in a closet so it doesn’t lie flat) but still flies very well. In fact, it still flies better (higher, longer) than a traditional frisbee. I’m sure if I left it on a flat surface in the sun it would correct it.

Ultimately, I’m sure this is infinitely more comfortable for a dog than any other plastic flying disc. It flies a good long distance and has held up like a champ thus far. I’m not so unreasonable as to think this one will last forever, but it does seem possible that it might last a year. Maybe more. Given this first month of constant usage I’m *very* happy with the purchase and would not hesitate to recommend it to any other dog owner.

This backpack is super cute and my daughter who is a horse lover, just loved it. I wanted a little backpack she could take with her to horseback riding lessons, something to hold a jacket, her boots, carrot treats for the horse.
