This truck is what I expected and then some. It is much bigger than I expected, and far more sturdy than I thought it would be. My son loves to watch the trash come come through the neighborhood, and this truck was just the thing for him. I also love that it is made from recycled milk bottles and the price is just right. I wasn’t expecting much for [...], but it is a well-made, fun toy, I highly recommend it and will be buying several more as gifts.

Just a little more information.

My almost 3 year old son does love this truck but was quickly pointing out that the wheels weren’t the best for carpet or floor. It really works best on asphalt.

Also, nothing but the back door opens. It does tilt dump but not all the way.

So it’s a great color, very durable and made of recycled materials but the wheels are sub-standard and nothing but one door opens.

My daughter and I were asked to participate in a test group for Seventh Generation before these diapers were available for purchase. I have not purchased any since because I haven’t been able to find them, however, when we used the package Seventh Generation sent us we had no issues with them. I actually thought that they fit her better than Huggies or Pampers brand training pants and I really value the chlorine-free aspect. We have used Seventh Generation diapers for about a year now and my daughter’s skin is far less irritated than it was with the regular diapers. I tried switching back to Huggies and Pampers and her skin became irritated almost immediately. The Seventh Generation training pants are really not any more expensive than the other brands. We didn’t have any problems with them leaking, I have found that the regular diapers do leak more often than other brands but I solved that problem by going up a size and changing her more frequently. All in all, these training pants are a good buy.

These training pants work at least as well as Easy Ups and are better than Pull Ups at holding in messes. All that and good for the planet, too. They are chlorine and dye free and don’t have that funny ink smell that a lot of training pants do. Try the Seventh Generation wipes, too.

Green Toys Dump Truck Reviews

My daughter saved her allowance for this truck, and we were thrilled to find it on Amazon for 35% off the list price, so we really got a great deal on it. In fact we bought two – the other as a gift for our friends’ son.

Let me say first: I love Green Toys. I love that they are a US-based company that recycles and makes really cool simple toys that are 100% safe. And I love the classic chunky-style of this dump truck.

However, I think it’s ridiculous that the wheels don’t roll on hardwood floors (our house is all hardwood floors, save for a couple area rugs). It’s a notch better on the rugs, and outdoors in the grass. The wheels still seem reluctant to turn, even on terrain they can grip on. This seems like such an obvious design flaw. Didn’t they test drive the dump truck before mass-producing it? I mean, we’re talking wheels and an axle here, it’s not rocket science.

We decided to keep it anyway, or rather my daughter did. It was her purchase, after all. She doesn’t seem to mind terribly sliding it around indoors. It gets the most use in the sandbox anyway.

I guess if I had to buy it again, heck, I probably would… at least if it were on sale again. Who knows, we might add the recycle truck to the collection despite the fact I suspect it would have the same flaw… if it goes on sale. I guess it comes down to this: Do you want a safe toy? Or one that works? OK, I want both. Maybe I’ll disassemble the thing and see if there’s an easy fix.

In summation, this is definitely not Green Toys’ best effort.

I bought this truck for my 9mth old son. He loves putting things in and out of the bed and pushing it on the floor. The recycled plastic is very sturdy and I think this toy will last a very long time! The best part is that if it ever breaks beyond repair it can be placed in the recycling bin instead of the garbage can! I would recommend this toy for any child!
